This article was written in late 2000,
before
Harley-Davidson accepted the fact that synthetic
oils were better for their bikes, and long before
Harley came out with their own Screaming Eagle line.
Since that time, AMSOIL has introduced two new
premium motorcycle oil formulations with GL-1
ratings, as well as a line of Absolute Efficiency
Motorcycle Oil Filters that no longer require
changing in the middle of an extended drain

SAE Filter study
This article cites a study conducted by the Society
of Automobile Engineers (SAE) that demonstrates
excessive engine ware comes from small particles
that are too small to be caught by the standard
filters sold on the auto parts store shelf. Only AMSOIL
has continuously documented the effectiveness of its
superior Nano-Fiber (space
age technology) filters.
Truth In Advertising: BP Takes On
Royal Purple
The April 8, 2009 edition of Lube Report, a weekly
email newsletter from Lubes 'N Greases magazine,
carries a lead story by editor George Gill titled
Truth in Advertising: BP vs. Royal Purple. As it
turns out Royal Purple was taken to task by The
National Advertising Division of the Council of
Better Business Bureaus. The NAD recommended that
Royal Purple discontinue making many of their
performance claims due to faulty documentation and
anecdotal evidence.
